A 5-year-old was among two people injured when a scooter was involved in a crash in Hartford on Tuesday.
Emergency crews responded to a report of a collision involving an SUV and a scooter in the area of Broad and Mountford Streets shortly before 7 p.m., according to the Hartford Fire Department.
Fire officials said a man who was operating the scooter and a 5-year-old suffered minor injuries during the collision. The child was thrown from the scooter just before the impact, according to fire officials.
Both victims were treated by medics at the scene and taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The incident remains under investigation by the Hartford Police Department.
