Police arrested a man who allegedly shot at someone during a road rage incident in Hartford on Thursday night.
Officers responded to the area of Park and Washington Streets just before 8:40 p.m. on a report of a road rage incident that led to gunshots being fired and found that the driver who called police had gunfire damage to their car, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.
No injuries were reported.
Boisvert said a description of the suspect’s vehicle was shared with area police before members of the Hartford Police Violent Crimes Unit and Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force spotted the vehicle. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Lorenzo Dunn of Hartford, was taken into custody, according to Boisvert.
Inside the vehicle, authorities allegedly found a firearm and narcotics, Boisvert said. Police also found that Dunn had a warrant out for his arrest charging him in an assault involving a gun that was reported earlier in the year, according to Boisvert.
Dunn was taken to the Hartford Police Detention Facility and charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with internet to sell.
