A Boca Raton man arrested after a “physical altercation” with a protester at an anti-ICE demonstration at the Home Depot in Boca Raton on Saturday was charged with two counts of battery, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Video obtained by WPEC News Channel 12, a news partner of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, appears to show Thomas Landry, of Boca Raton, swiping a helmet off the head of a man attending the protest.

WPEC also reported that “a witness alleged that Landry punched the demonstrator seen in the video before the recording of the incident began.”
“Call 911. Hello, police? He just attacked me,” the demonstrator is heard saying in the video.
The man identified as Landry responds with “I didn’t punch you. Where the marks [expletive]?”
The sheriff’s office said the protests, which they said drew about 500 protesters to the 9800 block of Glades Road on Saturday, were largely peaceful.
“The majority of participants complied with lawful directives and remained within designated protest areas,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “No widespread issues involving traffic disruption, property damage, or disorderly conduct were observed.”
Further information from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office or jail records was not immediately available Sunday.
Landry was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail on Saturday. His bond was set at $2,000.
There have been protests throughout the United States against the fatal shooting last week of anti-ICE protester Renee Good in Minneapolis.
