Man arrested in deadly shooting outside bar in Pembroke Pines

A man faces charges in a shooting that killed one person and injured another Sunday outside Rickey’s Sports Bar and Grill in Pembroke Pines, police said.

Shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday, multiple people called 911 about a shooting in the parking lot of the restaurant at 8389 Pines Blvd. Officers found two men who had been shot multiple times, Pembroke Pines Police spokesperson Amanda Conwell said in a news release.

One of the men died at a hospital, while the other survived and is being treated, Conwell said. Their names have not been released.

Clayton Hicks, 27, of Miami, was arrested on a count of second-degree murder with a firearm later on Sunday in Miami by Miami-Dade County deputies and the FBI, Conwell said.

He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami shortly before 10 p.m., jail records show. He was held there Monday without bond.

Additional information about the circumstances of the shooting has not been released.
