Man dies from motorcycle crash on I-64 in Hampton

HAMPTON — A man died from a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning on I-64, according to a release by state police.

Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal crash that involved two motorcycles and happened at about 12:33 a.m. on Saturday. The crash happened on I-64 westbound near Big Bethel Road in Hampton.

Marlo B. Tubikanec, a 20-year-old from Newport News, lost control of his motorcycle. According to state police’s initial investigation, he was injured and attempting to get out of the way on the road, when he was struck by another motorcycle, driven by James N. Marketh. Marketh is a 49-year-old from Chester, Virginia. Tubikanec died at the scene.

This crash is still being investigated and state police did not share any additional information.
