NORFOLK — A man died and a woman was injured from a shooting at Church’s Texas Chicken on Saturday, according to the Norfolk Police Department.
Larry L, Jackson has been charged with second-degree murder, malicious wounding, robbery, grand larceny and use of a firearm. Jackson is 32 and a Hampton resident. He is being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Police responded to the shooting at about 11:50 a.m. Saturday after hearing a report of the shooting. Officers then found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The restaurant where this happened is located at 2308 East Princess Anne Road.
Both people were taken to the hospital. The man, Sherod S. Rogers, died at the hospital from his injuries. He was 47 years old and a Norfolk resident. The woman’s injuries are not life-threatening. Police did not release her identity, but she is 53 years old.
Detectives have not released any additional information.
