The fall state championship schedules are set across five sports with competition beginning on Friday and lasting through the weekend.
There are a number of matchups involving area teams. In boys soccer, No. 4 Wethersfield will face No. 14 Simsbury on Sunday at 6:15 p.m. for the Class L championship, while No. 3 Haddam-Killingworth will meet No. 5 Somers for the Class S title on Sunday at 10 a.m.
All eight soccer championship games will be played at Hartford’s Trinity Health Stadium on Saturday and Sunday.
In girls soccer, the lone area matchup is in Class S, where No. 9 Old Saybrook takes on No. 10 Morgan on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Wethersfield High hosts the field hockey tripleheader on Saturday and the Class S matchup features No. 1 Granby vs. No. 2 Immaculate at 10 a.m.
In girls volleyball, played Friday and Saturday at Sports Sciences in Hartford, Coventry and Canton meet for the Class S championship on Friday at 4 p.m., while Bristol Central, the No. 7 seed, will look to upset top seed East Lyme for a Class L title on Friday at 7 p.m.
The girls swimming season comes to an end on Sunday with the State Open at Yale, beginning at 1 p.m.
