A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputy who was shot in the southwest area of the county on Friday afternoon died at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital.

Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz, during a news conference at the hospital, said Deputy Devin Jaramillo “was murdered.”

Law-enforcement sources told Local 10 News that the deputy was ambushed and shot in the neck during an argument while he was working a car-crash scene.
