The Montgomery Police Department is seeking a man in connection with a stabbing of a pregnant woman in the village on Saturday, according to a news release from the police department.
At around 8:30 a.m. Aug. 23, Montgomery police officers responded to the 2200 block of Jericho Road for a report of a stabbing, according to the news release. There, they found a pregnant woman suffering from multiple stab wounds, the release said.
The woman was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, where she and her unborn child are in critical but stable condition, according to the Montgomery police.
The person who stabbed the woman fled the scene, according to the Montgomery Police Department, and has not been located. A spokesperson for the village of Montgomery and Montgomery Police Department said on Monday that the woman knew the suspect.
The department is seeking the public’s help locating Ricardo Perez-Fuentes, 39, in connection with the stabbing. He is described as having dark hair, being between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 190 pounds, according to police. He was last seen wearing dark pants and a dark-colored jacket, police said.
The police department urged the public not to approach Perez-Fuentes, but to call 911 if he is seen or if an individual has information about his whereabouts. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Det. Lindholm with the Montgomery police at 331-212-9050 or llindholm@ci.montgomery.il.us.
