New star joins cast of ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff filming in North Texas

DALLAS — Annette Bening is the latest decorated actress to join Taylor Sheridan’s expanding TV empire.

Over her 40-year career, Bening has won myriad accolades for portraying complex women in films such as “Nyad” and “American Beauty.”

She is now bringing her talents to the “Yellowstone” spinoff “Dutton Ranch,” according to Deadline. Bening joins Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and Finn Little, who are reprising their “Yellowstone” roles.

The spinoff, which has been filming in North Texas, follows Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser) to a new ranch in Montana after the events of “Yellowstone’s” fifth season.

“Dutton Ranch” “is a testament to the peace they sought, fought for, and nearly died for,” Deadline reported of the series’ logline.

“With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter” — the boy taken in by the couple — “becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

Bening will portray the “cunning and charming” Beulah Jackson, who leads a major ranch in Texas.

Paramount+, the streamer attached to several Sheridan series, has not announced a release date for “Dutton Ranch.”

In the meantime, fans of the Fort Worth-raised show creator’s work can look forward to upcoming seasons of “Landman,” “Mayor of Kingstown” and “Tulsa King” this fall.
