Reserve Marian Clayton had 28 points and 10 rebounds as Old Dominion’s women earned a 73-60 victory Saturday at Coastal Carolina, getting the Monarchs (17-12, 8-8) back to .500 in Sun Belt competition.
ODU led 50-49 before beginning the fourth quarter with 10 unanswered points, the first six by Clayton.
ODU’s Simaru Fields and Nevaeh Scott, who both began the game on the bench, had 11 and 10 points, respectively. Fields had six assists. Riley Stack had three blocks and six rebounds.
The Chanticleers (13-16, 6-10) got 16 points, nine rebounds and five blocks from Tracey Hueston.
Christopher Newport 60, Mary Washington 48: The Captains (21-4) trailed 28-27 at halftime in Fredericksburg but recovered in the second half to down the Eagles (10-15) in a regular-season finale.
Hailey Kellogg scored 18 points, sinking all six of her free throws, and Madison McKenzie had 14 points for CNU, which overcame 21-of-66 field-goal shooting by goading UMW into 30 turnovers.
The Eagles, who made 20 of 44 field-goal tries, got 12 points on 6-of-6 shooting from Juliona Mabie.
Apprentice 48, South Carolina Central Christian 44: The top-seeded Builders (13-9), the New South Athletic Conference tourney hosts, held off the Gladiators in a semifinal in Newport News.
Apprentice advanced to Sunday’s noon final against Millennia Atlantic, which ousted Atlantis 66-46 in a clash of south Florida teams.
Salisbury 90, Regent 52: The host Sea Gulls (15-10) flew to a 36-13 first-quarter lead on their way to a Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference victory over the Royals (5-18), who have dropped three consecutive games.
Nicole Miller scored 28 points to lead four Salisbury players in double figures.
Kennedy Shipman had 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Regent, which hit a third of its shots (22 of 66). Shardae Williams had 11 points and Mikaylah Telfer had eight points and 14 rebounds.
Bryant & Stratton 67, Catawba Valley Community College 45: The Bobcats (23-2, 17-1 conference), ranked 16th in National Junior College Athletic Association Division II, extended their winning streak to nine by breezing to a victory in Hickory, North Carolina.
Hailey Harris had 21 points and eight rebounds, Sian Lewin had 15 points and seven assists, and Sanai Johnson had seven points, eight rebounds and 10 assists.

Monmouth 63, William & Mary 58: Despite 11 points off the bench from former Smithfield High star Dynasti Pierce, the Tribe (13-11, 6-7 Coastal Athletic Association) lost to the Hawks (17-8, 10-4) before 1,067 at Kaplan Arena.
W&M trimmed a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to five. Monet Dance had 10 points and five assists, Cassidy Geddes and Natalie Fox each had nine points, and Alexa Mikeska grabbed 10 rebounds.
Monmouth was led by Divine Dibula’s 22 points and GiGi Gamble’s 20.
