Omari DeVeaux hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 2 seconds left and finished with 18 points to lead Virginia Wesleyan to a 65-64 victory over No. 5 Randolph-Macon on Wednesday at TowneBank Arena in Virginia Beach.
The victory vaults the Marlins (10-5, 5-1) to the top of the ODAC standings. They have won three of four since dropping three straight.
Randolph-Macon (14-2, 6-2), ranked fifth in the D3hoops.com poll, slipped to third place in the league.
Amari Moorer added 13 points for VWU, which shot 50% from the field and 45.5% (10 of 22) from 3-point range.
Theo Antinori had 14 points for Randolph-Macon, which went 4 of 18 (22.2%) from beyond the arc.
