One person was airlifted to a hospital in Rhode Island after an accident involving a chainsaw in Canterbury on Monday.
Emergency crews responded to the area of 127 Lisbon Road around 5 p.m. on the report of someone suffering a leg injury during an accident involving a chainsaw, according to the Canterbury Volunteer Fire Department.
The first crews on scene made the quick “judgment call” to request Life Star to the scene because of the “potentially serious injury,” fire officials said. Life Star landed at Dr. Helen Baldwin Middle School where the victim was taken in an ambulance.
The victim was then flown to Rhode Island Hospital, fire officials said. Their condition was not immediately clear.
“We hope that the patient makes a full and speedy recovery,” fire officials wrote in a post on Facebook.
