Fourteen people were displaced by a two-alarm fire structure fire at Connecticut and Union avenues in Bridgeport early Sunday morning.
The Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the blaze at 12:15 a.m. Three hours later the fire was put out, and then it briefly re-ignited at 4:50 a.m., according to Bridgeport spokesperson Shawnna White.
“Members of the Bridgeport Fire Department worked quickly to extinguish the fire and has since put in the recall,” White said.
No injuries were reported. Fairfield and Stratford fire departments were requested for station coverage. White did not say whether the burned building had been in use.
An overnight structure fire displaced 14 people in Bridgeport. The Bridgeport Fire Department responded at 12:15 on Sunday morning and extinguished it three hours later before reigniting briefly at 4:15 a.m.
“The American Red Cross is assisting with the relocation of 14 individuals that reside in the home adjacent to the building,” White said.
