Pedestrian airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following collision on I-84 in Farmington

A pedestrian was airlifted to a hospital after being seriously injured during a crash on Interstate 84 in Farmington on Monday.

Emergency crews responded to a report of the crash on the eastbound side of the highway in the area of Exit 37 in the morning hours, according to Connecticut State Police and the Farmington Police Department.

Farmington Police Lt. Kyle Noddin said the pedestrian was taken to a hospital via Life Star after suffering serious injuries. Their condition was not immediately clear.

According to state police, the highway was shut down in the area of the crash with traffic being diverted to Route 9 and Route 72. Motorists were asked to avoid the area while crews were at the scene.

Noddin said Farmington officers assisted state troopers. The crash remains under investigation by state police.
