After producing the best defensive team in the National League this year, multiple Chicago Cubs are being recognized for their individual performances.
Center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, left fielder Ian Happ and second baseman Nico Hoerner each won a Gold Glove Award at their respective position Sunday night. The Cubs joined the San Francisco Giants as the only National League teams with multiple winners. Left-hander Matthew Boyd, third baseman Matt Shaw and catcher Carson Kelly were also Gold Glove Award finalists.
This marks Happ’s fourth consecutive Gold Glove Award, the first Cub to do that since Anthony Rizzo (2016-2020).
Crow-Armstrong often made difficult plays look routine en route to earning his first Gold Glove Award. He joins Bob Dernier (1984) as the only Cubs center fielder to win the award since Rawlings first presented it in 1960.
Hoerner committed only four errors in 156 games as he received his second Gold Glove Award (2023).
