Plow truck hits pole on Route 44 in Norfolk, leading to road closure and wires down

A plow truck struck a utility pole on Route 44 in Norfolk on Tuesday, which led to power lines coming down and the road being shut down.

The crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. in the area of Laurel Way, according to Connecticut State Police and the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department.

State police said troopers responded to the scene and found that no injuries were reported.

According to fire officials, power lines came down across the road during the collision. The state Department of Transportation said Route 44 was closed at Loon Meadow Drive.

Fire officials said the closure was expected to last an “extended period” of time while the utility pole was repaired.
