Police: CT man charged with DUI allegedly found passed out in running vehicle with stun gun, drugs

A man was charged with DUI over the weekend when police allegedly found him passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle in South Windsor where it was allegedly discovered that he had a weapon and drugs.

Ciriaco G. Capobianco, 40, of Stafford Springs faces charges of operating under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, according to the South Windsor Police Department.

Officers responded to the area of Main Street and Vibert Road on Saturday at 5:50 p.m. for reports of an unresponsive man in the driver seat of a vehicle which was believed to still be shifted in drive, police said. The driver was identified as Capobianco, who investigators believed was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to police.

Capobianco allegedly refused to take field sobriety testing and was taken into custody, police said. He was allegedly found with crack cocaine, according to police.

A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up a handheld stun gun, police said.

Capobianco was released on a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Oct. 15.
