Police have identified a mother who died along with her 7-year-old child in a crash in Hamden over the weekend.
Brandi Lowery, 40, of New Haven died following a collision that occurred Saturday just before 10:15 p.m. on Davis Street near Rogers Road, according to the Hamden Police Department.
Officers who responded to the scene found that two vehicles were involved in a head-on crash, police said. Lowery and her 7-year-old child, who has not been identified, were pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital, according to police.
The driver and a front seat passenger in the other vehicle were taken to a hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
According to police, the Hamden Police Social Worker was made available to everyone involved in the crash, including first responders.
The crash remains under investigation by the Hamden Accident Reconstruction Team. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Sgt. Ferrara at 203-230-4000.
