VIRGINIA BEACH — A man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a woman on North Great Neck Road early Saturday morning.
Around 2:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Great Neck Road for a report of a shooting. That’s near the street’s intersection with Virginia Beach Boulevard and an Interstate 264 overpass.
Juelle Morton, a 20-year-old Newport News woman, had multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene, according to Virginia Beach police.
Detectives identified 21-year-old Cesar Bermudez Evans, of Norfolk, as the suspect. He was arrested Sunday and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to a release.
No other information has been released.
