Police officer taken to hospital following crash in Stamford

A police officer was taken to a hospital on Tuesday after being involved in a crash in Stamford.

Several officers were responding to an emergency call on High Ridge Road around 3:20 p.m. when a marked cruiser was involved in a collision with a pickup truck at the intersection of Oaklawn Avenue, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Booth of the Stamford Police Department.

Booth said the initial collision sent the cruiser into another vehicle. The officer was taken to Stamford Hospital before being treated and released.

The other two drivers did not report any injuries at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
