Police: Teen stabbed following alleged disturbance involving multiple people in Bloomfield

Police are investigating a stabbing in Bloomfield on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bloomfield Police Department was contacted by the Hartford Police Department around 12:57 p.m. after an 18-year-old man suffering from puncture wounds to the torso was found at 500 Blue Hills Ave., according to Bloomfield police.

The teen was transported to Saint Francis Hospital for treatment, police said. Hospital staff told officers the victim received non-life threating wounds and would not require surgery. It was expected that he would be held overnight for observation, according to police.

An officer was sent to Saint Francis Hospital who learned that a group disturbance allegedly occurred on Revere Drive in Bloomfield involving multiple males, police said.

Blood was later located at the location of the alleged disturbance, as the Detective Unit processed the scene, according to police.
