On 15 January 2022, the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai volcano unleashed a powerful eruption, sending an ash plume soaring to an estimated height of 57km [1] and triggering a tsunami that wiped out infrastructure across multiple islands across the Pacific island Kingdom of Tonga.
