The Orlando Pride have been struggling in NWSL play, but the Concacaf W Champions Cup presents a great opportunity for the defending champions to get back on track.
Orlando travels to Panama to take on Chorrillo on Tuesday night at 8 in what should be a chance for the Pride to rest key players and build confidence heading into the final matches of the regular season.
Chorrillo has struggled so far in the W Champions Cup. The Panamanian side lost 6-0 to Pachuca and 9-0 to Club America, two Mexican teams that Orlando will face later this season. Only Shaday Mow and Shayari Camarena have managed shots on target, with one apiece.
This is good news for a Pride team that has only kept one clean sheet in its last five matches. Goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse was benched on Saturday in favor of McKinley Crone in a 1-1 draw, and whoever gets the start in Panama will be able to build confidence against a weaker side.
Orlando has also struggled to score since the season-ending injury to Barbra Banda. Jacqueline Ovalle looked great against Bay FC, providing the assist to Ally Watt on Orlando’s only goal, and she can continue to build chemistry with her new teammates if she sees the pitch against Chorrillo.
Seb Hines is expected to rotate the lineup like he did against Alajuelense, giving bench players a chance to stake a claim on a starting spot over some struggling players who were key for the Pride last season but have struggled in 2025. Zara Chavoshi is one to watch for, as she has started the last two games for Orlando and has looked impressive in the back line.
The Pride need a convincing result here if they want to recover their league form. Confidence is key in soccer, and Orlando can start building it back with a dominant win against a lesser opponent.
