A popular fast-food chain plans to open in Virginia Beach — finally.
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, the Louisiana-based company, has been building its first Virginia Beach location at the former Wells Fargo site near Lynnhaven Mall.
Google shows Oct. 28 as the opening date, but the company hasn’t confirmed it.
The chain already operates restaurants in Chesapeake, Hampton, Norfolk and York County. However, this doesn’t diminish the excitement about the new spot. Once it launches, some customers won’t have to travel far for their beloved chicken fingers, creamy Cane’s sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce) and buttery Texas toast.
With more than 900 locations, Raising Cane’s is one of the fastest-growing restaurant brands, and in May a Newsweek readers’ choice vote deemed it one of the top 10 best fast-food chains.
