Readers speak: Behavior at the Ryder Cup was embarrassing and inexcusable. It was also preventable.

The Ryder Cup in the USA is controlled by the PGA of America.  They control the tournament and are responsible for crowd control.

They should have foreseen that there would be potential problems.  They need to take a lesson from The Masters Tournament.

There should be:

No drinking on the course in the future
Foul language should be grounds for immediate expulsion
There should be much greater security
Requirements should be published in advance and given to each attendee at the gate

All of the above should be aggressively enforced including on practice days.

The PGA of America should offer a sincere apology to all Americans and to the PGA Europe.

This must never happen again because it is an embarrassment to all who enjoy playing or watching great golf.
