Retail Watch: New Lehigh Valley salon offering popular head spa halos that are trending online

Ever look at your hair and think the color is a little … metallic? Not quite your own? A new Lehigh Valley salon can help restore and rejuvenate that hair back with some head spa treatment.

The salon, Mane tHAIRapy Head Spa, opened in late June at 5930 Hamilton Blvd., Suite 5, in Lower Macungie Township.

Owner Nastassia Lee, a hair stylist with over a decade of experience, works with other stylists to provide one-one-one appointments for head spa treatments, haircuts, coloring and extensions. She first opened in 2023 at 7150 Hamilton Blvd., but the newer space is bigger and will soon allow for groups of clients like couples or families.

The head spa treatments fight against the effects of “hard water” on one’s hair and skin using halo-like water dispensers, specialized shampoos, brushing and massages.

Look under a microscope and you’ll see the difference, Lee said.

“I’ve been doing blonding for a long time, so I do a lot of highlights for women, and a lot of them would complain that their old stylist couldn’t get them really blonde for too long, like they’d be blonde when they leave and not after a few weeks,” she said. “And I’m like, well, that’s actually just all the copper, the rust, the minerals and the sediment basically absorbing into your hair and collecting in its hair stands and in its fibers, and it’s reflecting this yellow and orange, and it’s actually just the water.”

The treatments will not only leave clients’ scalps feeling exfoliated and clean with more vibrant hair, Lee said, but also help protect against issues like hair dryness and itchiness, and avoid exacerbating dandruff and eczema.

The salon and its head spa treatments also provide a more relaxing experience than other, more busy salons through the one-on-one appointments, the massages, aroma therapy and music — enough that some have suggested that Lee should sell a “nap time” service afterward.

“Some people, I think, just have the hardest time relaxing,” she said. “And to have somebody put their hands to your head … and to really get into massaging you like that … I just think that people really need that type of an escape, where they can go and they can feel like they’re in a trusted and very tranquil environment.”

Customers can make appointments for mornings and evenings all week.
