Route 22 will be closed in both directions for several hours this weekend in Bethlehem Township so PennDOT can remove a bridge.
PennDOT said the highway will be shut down between Routes 33 and 191 between 9 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday so it can take out the Farmersville Road bridge over Route 22.
It is part of a $4.6 million project to replace the bridge, which was built in 1954. Work began in October 2024 and is expected to be completed by October 2026.
The new bridge will be two-span, prestressed concrete, 180 feet long and 33 feet wide. It will have 16.5 feet of height clearance.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured onto Route 191, Newburg Road, Country Club Road, Hecktown Road and Route 33.
