Savannah Bananas and ‘Banana Ball’ will skip Norfolk’s Harbor Park in 2026

Banana Ball in Norfolk? Squashed.

The Savannah Bananas and their affiliated teams are not slated to make a visit to Norfolk’s Harbor Park in 2026, according to the club’s schedule released this week.

The Bananas sold out six events at 12,000-seat Harbor Park during the summers of 2024 and 2025. But the Bananas and their Harlem Globetrotter-like antics, dubbed “Banana Ball,” will get only as close as Richmond — at the Double-A Flying Squirrels’ new CarMax Park — next season.

The Firefighters played the Party Animals for three games at Harbor Park in 2025, while the Savannah Bananas, the marquee Banana Ball team, played in Norfolk in 2024. The games feature players who take frequent, choreographed dance breaks and back-flips, and behind-the-back and between-the-legs catches are routine.

Each event features pregame and postgame parties, with music and dancing and plenty of merchandise for sale.

The expanding show sold out 17 Major League Baseball stadiums last year, and Banana Ball will play 75 stadiums in 45 states in 2026. The newly formed Banana Ball Championship League for 2026 includes two new teams: the Loco Beach Coconuts and the Indianapolis Clowns.

The 2026 tour will stop in 14 MLB stadiums and 10 football stadiums, including the New Orleans Saints’ Superdome and New England Patriots’ Gillette Stadium, along with Texas A&M’s Kyle Field and the University of Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium. Both college venues hold more than 100,000 fans.
