A 55-year-old Frackville woman was fatally shot in a residence early Saturday, state police at Frackville said.

According to PSP Frackville, borough police were dispatched to a home on South Center Street shortly after midnight for a report of a shooting victim. Inside the residence, they found the deceased, Natalie Peleschak, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Upon arrival, police took the suspect — Andrew J. Peleschak, 56 — into custody. He was airlifted to Geisinger Medical Center near Danville for treatment, police said.

The Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office later pronounced the victim dead.

State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.
