Seahawks star Jaxon-Smith Njigba clears concussion protocol, returns to Super Bowl LX

Jaxon Smith-Njigba briefly left Super Bowl LX to be evaluated for a concussion but returned late in his Seattle Seahawks’ win over the New England Patriots.

The star wide receiver went into the blue medical tent, and then to the locker room, during Sunday’s third quarter in Santa Clara, Calif., but he was cleared in time to take the field with under 12 minutes remaining in the fourth.

Smith-Njigba finished with four receptions for 27 yards in Seattle’s 29-13 victory. He had one reception for three yards upon returning from the locker room.

It was a quiet game for Smith-Njigba, the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year who led the league with 1,793 receiving yards in the regular season.

But Smith-Njigba drew much of the attention from star Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez.

Cooper Kupp led Seattle with six receptions for 61 yards, while tight end A.J. Barner caught a fourth-quarter touchdown pass from Sam Darnold for the Seahawks’ lone offensive TD.
