Serious injuries were reported in a multi-car crash on Interstate 91 in Enfield on Monday.

The crash was reported in the afternoon hours on the southbound side of the highway near Exit 46, according to Connecticut State Police.

The collision led to the highway and the Exit 47 on-ramp being shut down while authorities were at the scene.

According to state police, serious injuries were reported. It was not clear how many individuals were injured.

State police noted that the condition of the highway was affected by the major snowstorm that hit the state.

The crash remains under investigation.
