It’s time to dust off the real cobwebs atop boxes of fake cobwebs and other Halloween decorations in the attic, as the spooky season is now upon us.
We’re scouring Central Florida for the best-dressed houses and front lawns of decorated Halloween homes. The focus will be on houses in Orange, Seminole, Lake and Osceola counties, but entries from certain areas of Polk and Volusia counties may be considered as well.
Spooky Awards 2024: Orlando’s best-dressed Halloween homes
Extra points will be given to houses with particularly bright, large or handmade displays — or themes that seem creative and out of the box.
In order to be considered, submit your house (or the home of a friend or neighbor) by Oct. 17 by emailing the decked-out home’s address, a short description and high-quality photos to pconnolly@orlandosentinel.com.
Much like our annual Twinkly Awards during the December holidays, winning a Spooky Award comes with bragging rights and seasonal joy. We will aim to highlight at least 10 homes and feature them online and in our Oct. 24 Calendar section.
