Josh Pitsenberger rushed for two touchdowns, Noah Piper kicked four field goals and Yale defeated Stonehill 47-7 on Saturday at Yale Bowl in New Haven.

Pitsenberger scored from 6-yards out, Wilhelm Daal scored on a 25-yard run and Piper booted three of his field goals in the first half as the Bulldogs (3-2) took off to a 23-0 halftime lead.

The Bulldogs were denied their first shutout since 2021 when Aiden Garrett scored from 1-yard out with 35 seconds remaining for the Skyhawks (2-5).

Pitsenberger finished with 69 yards rushing on 13 carries. Dante Reno was 16 of 24 for 267 yards passing and a TD to Jaxton Santiago, who had five catches for a career-high 150 yards.

Trinity 28, Middlebury 26: At Hartford, the Bantams avoided disaster in the fourth quarter and hung on for their fifth straight NESCAC win.

Trinity led 28-14 at the start of the final period, before Middlebury scored a pair of touchdowns, including one on a blocked field goal that led to an 89-yard return, to close the gap. A failed two-point conversion following Charlie Grant’s return kept the Bantams in the lead. The Panthers then got the ball back with 3:06 remaining and drove to the Trinity 40 before turning the ball over on downs.

Jaxon Carroll completed 14 of 22 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns and Jack Tosone rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown for the Bantams (5-1).

Bowdoin 25, Wesleyan 17: At Middletown, Soren Hummel threw three touchdown passes, including two in the deciding third quarter, to lead previously winless Bowdoin to the upset NESCAC victory over the Cardinals.

Then Hummel went to work in the third. He capped the opening drive of the half with a 19-yard scoring pass to Conrad Babka, and then hit Cole Daignault for a 12-yard TD to take the lead for good. The Daignault score was set up by a muffed Wesleyan punt return.
