State police investigating reports of items thrown at drivers in Haddam

State police are investigating a number of recent reports of things being thrown at motorists in Haddam.

The incidents have been reported on Route 154 in the Tylerville area of Haddam during the late evening hours, town officials wrote on the Haddam Facebook page.

A dashboard camera video that accompanies the post shows what appears to be an object striking the front passenger side of a vehicle as it is moving past someone standing off the road who looks as though they wound up and threw something at the car. The timestamp on the video indicates it was taken on Sunday shortly after 10 p.m. Town officials said the video was just one of multiple reports of water balloons and other unspecified objects being thrown at drivers.

The incidents have led to concerns that a driver could become startled and potentially crash.

A Connecticut State Police spokesperson confirmed troopers from the Troop F barracks are investigating the incidents. State police said they believe juveniles are responsible.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Troop F at 860-399-2100.
