An 80-year-old pedestrian is dead after being struck by a 96-year-old driver in Lake County.
The crash happened Thursday afternoon, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The driver, of Altoona, was parked in a 2008 Ford Edge in a parking lot of Potters Court, west of Lakeview Terrace Drive.
She was backing out of a spot when she struck the pedestrian, also of Altoona.
First responders airlifted the pedestrian to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver, who wasn’t injured during the crash, remained on scene to speak with authorities.
The crash remains under investigation.
