State police are seeking information that will lead to the arrest of a suspect involved in the shooting of a teen girl at a Halloween party in Monroe County.
Unique Kaheem Johnson, 20, has been charged with attempted homicide and related charges in the shooting of a 16-year-old girl at a Halloween party in Smithfield Township, Monroe County, state police said.
According to investigators, Johnson and Benjamin Carl Booth, 18, engaged in a verbal altercation in the street with “unknown individuals” at the party. As both groups moved away from each other, Johnson pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds, striking the girl, police said.
Police did not say whether she was the target. Police were dispatched around 11:42 p.m. to the scene at Carillion Drive, and found the young girl injured. She was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment and is expected to survive.
Booth was taken into custody and charged with attempted homicide and related charges. Johnson has evaded arrest and investigators are requesting that anyone with information on his location contact troopers at the PSP Stroudsburg barracks, 570-619-6800.
