I’m furious that the government is shut down and refuses to help 22 million people affordable healthcare. I’m furious that ABC and the ESPN channels aren’t available on YouTube. Come on, people, get your act together!
I’m so ticked off at my spell-check on my phone! It types worse than I do!
I’m ticked off at my neighbor for filling his front yard with garish Christmas decorations the day after Halloween! I like Christmas as well as the next guy, but this is ridiculous. There is no theme except “the bigger the better.” We have many reindeer of all sizes, the same number of oversize snowmen, candy canes, tree decorations and Christmas trees. A couple manger scenes, a giant Santa and a rooftop sleigh round out the flashing lights midway. This is all guarded by a huge nutcracker soldier. By the way, not a turkey in sight. He has erased Thanksgiving!
I wish a social surveying company would count the number of times per day the average American citizen is being lied to. Two of my favorites are “The safety of our customers is our top priority” and “It’s free!” Others: “We care about you,” “We will fight for you,” “You can trust us.”

The flip side

Thank you, thank you to Dr. John Sinclair, the Bach Festival orchestra and singers for a phenomenally superb performance of Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” this past Sunday afternoon. The presentation in the acoustically excellent Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts only added to the total enjoyment of this wonderful piece.
