Ticked Off! @shorter TV seasons

What is wrong with people this time of year? Bad enough there is apparently a new season called “HalloweenChristmas” (ever heard of Thanksgiving?). How obnoxious is 24/7 Christmas music from the day after Halloween (hello, 107.7)?  I love, love, love Christmas, but for crying out loud, two months of Mariah Carey?  Stop it!
So a woman who served time in prison for manslaughter was elected to the Bangor, Maine city council. I am not sure who ticks me off more, the politicians who have no shame or the voters who have no common sense.
After “Chicago Fire” was finished last night and showing scenes from the next show, they announced the next one would be Jan. 7.  New TV seasons start later by a few weeks, end much sooner and take breaks in the middle. Years ago, it was usually a 26-week season. Guess it’s all money today.
I’m happy to see the one-cent coin relegated to the dustbin. But I’m ticked off that the 9/10 of a cent tacked on to the price of each gallon of gasoline has remained for more than a century. Haven’t we evolved to the extent that no one is fooled by that marketing gimmick?
I only get the paper on Thursdays and Sundays, so the solutions to Thursday’s crossword are lost to me. Many retired people in my neighborhood have the same Sentinel subscription I do. The puzzles are the best part of the paper. Please stop ruining it.
I wish I could listen to my favorite radio station in the morning and not hear so many out-of-breath, baby-talking pop singers. It is like fingernails on a chalkboard to hear them. Yes, I mute!
