Top Dolphins-Ravens prop bets from Chris Perkins and David Furones

MIAMI GARDENS — It’s Year 2 for Sun Sentinel Dolphins columnist Chris Perkins and Dolphins writer David Furones picking prop bets, which they’ll do for all 17 regular-season games.

Prior to each game, Furones and Perkins will select a “Best Bet” and a “Longshot.” The “Best Bet” selection is a near 50-50 proposition while the “Longshot” is at least +300 or a 3-to-1 probability.

They don’t place dollar amounts on their bets, but you’re welcome to wager as much as you can afford.

Furones is 6-2 on his “Best Bets” while Perk is 1-7. On the “Longshot,” Furones is 3-5 while Perk is 1-7.

Perkins and Furones use the Hard Rock Bet app for odds. Be sure to check the South Florida Sun Sentinel game predictions for Sunday’s outlook.

Perk’s Best Bet: Zay Flowers anytime TD (+110)

Flowers, the University School alum, will want to show out back home, and QB Lamar Jackson, the Boynton Beach High alum who is also making a homecoming, will be happy to assist. When you factor in a possible Dolphins shortcoming in the secondary with two of last week’s CBs (Storm Duck and Kendall Sheffield) going down to injury, possibly along with S Ashtyn Davis, it just makes sense.

Furones’ Best Bet: Ollie Gordon II over 18.5 rushing yards (-120)

Gordon has a heightened role in the offense again as Miami should stick with the ground game against the Ravens. His role will largely come in short-yardage situations, but he can squirt through for larger gains on some of those opportunities. The use of Daniel Brunskill in jumbo packages with a sixth offensive lineman, plus coach Mike McDaniel’s willingness to put Gordon on the field at the same time as De’Von Achane, will help Gordon hit this number.

Furones was on the winning side again last Sunday in Atlanta, as Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts hit the over. Perk suffered another defeat as the Dolphins finally stopped the run in the matchup against Atlanta running back Bijan Robinson.

Perk’s Longshot: Malik Washington 6+ receptions (+300)

Washington’s reliability is good, and so is the trust from QB Tua Tagovailoa. In his past four games Washington has four, four, five and four receptions. I’m figuring the Ravens identify WR Jaylen Waddle as the man they want to control, which leaves Washington to be a primary target.

Furones’ Longshot: Nick Westbrook-Ikhine anytime TD (+400)

The free agent wide receiver acquisition had nine touchdowns for the Tennessee Titans last year. It’s time for him to finally get in the end zone in a Dolphins uniform in prime time. Westbrook-Ikhine has seven targets in the past two games after being targeted seven times the first six weeks. One of them turns into a score for Miami, as he’s due.

Neither writer hit a longshot on Sunday. Pitts’ receiving yards fell into a sweet spot of enough for Furones’ best bet but not what Perk needed for his longshot. De’Von Achane got Furones one touchdown early but not the second he needed.
