Police are investigating after a shooting in Hartford on Tuesday sent two people to the hospital, including one victim who is in his 70s.
Multiple officers responded to the area of 42 Battles St. just before 7:30 p.m. when a ShotSpotter notification alerted them to gunfire, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.
At the scene, police found evidence of gunfire, Boisvert said.
Police then learned that two people ā a man in his 50s and another in his 70s ā arrived at Hartford Hospital seeking treatment for gunshot injuries, according to Boisvert. Both victims were conscious and alert.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
