Two more suspects in Boynton Beach park shooting identified

Two men who were allegedly among groups of gang members involved in the July 5 shooting near Sara Sims Park in Boynton Beach have been identified but not yet arrested, police announced Tuesday.

Hundreds of people gathered at an unpermitted event called “Peace in the Hood” on the holiday weekend, and rival gang members started shooting at each other, some blindly without looking where they were aiming, injuring three women who were all unintended targets, Boynton Beach Police said.

As of August, a total of four men had been arrested in connection with the shooting: Jamarion Petty, 19; Kenneth Hollis, 25; Javon Johnson, 19; and D’Andre Leger, 20. The two men who police announced they are still looking for are Travonte Kemar Edwards, 21, and Tevens Darnell Bradley, 19.

Edwards is accused of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and firing a weapon in public or on residential property while Bradley is accused of improper exhibition of a firearm, the police department said in a news release.

Members of the “16th Ave Boys” gang were standing next to a fence on the south side of the park while members of the “Cherry Hill Boyz” gang were across the street next to the Community Deliverance Church in the 200 block of Northwest Ninth Avenue, according to probable cause affidavits. Video previously released shows multiple men near the park’s fence appearing to hold guns or tuck them into their waistbands before the shots erupted.

People ran and ducked in all directions, some who had children with them, the video showed. Several people took cover behind parked cars, while others quickly got in their cars and drove away from the area. Multiple cars were riddled with bullets.

Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers is offering a $3,000 reward for anonymous tips that lead to the two outstanding arrests.
