A Connecticut man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Norwalk was arrested Thursday by U.S. Marshals in partnership with officers from the Norwalk and Bridgeport Police Department.
Dashon Robinson, 34, of Bridgeport has been charged with fourth-degree sexual assault. He was being held on a $50,000 and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, according to Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police Department.
On June 30, the Norwalk Police Department’s Patrol Division initiated an investigation into a report of a sexual assault involving a female victim that was later assumed by the Detective Bureau, Podgorski said.
During the investigation, detectives determined that Robinson allegedly sexually assaulted the woman while she was at her residence, according to Podgorski. Norwalk detectives applied for and were granted an arrest warrant by Stamford Superior Court.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Bridgeport Regional Task Force, the Norwalk Police Department Special Services Division, and the Norwalk Police Detective Bureau located and arrested Robinson at a residence in Bridgeport on Thursday morning. He was transported to the Norwalk Police Department headquarters, where he was processed without incident, Podgorski said.
During the arrest, a second man who was with Robinson, identified as Aden Garrett, was allegedly found to be in possession of an illegal firearm, according to Podgorski. Garrett was arrested and transported to the Bridgeport Police Department, where he was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm without a permit and illegal transfer of a firearm.
