Kilian Brockhoff poured in 28 points Saturday as William & Mary improved to 9-0 at Kaplan Arena this season, outscoring Hofstra 89-82 in a festival of 3-point shooting before 4,095.
Brockhoff was 8 of 15 from beyond the arc, part of the Tribe’s 18-of-44 showing from long distance. Hofstra was 13 of 32 from 3-point range.
The Tribe (14-6, 5-3) have parlayed a three-game winning streak into sole possession of third place in the Coastal Athletic Association, an advantageous position. Only the top four will need to win just three games in the conference tournament for the championship. The teams in fifth or worse will have to win more.
Reese Miller came off the bench to score 17 points. Chase Lowe had eight points, 11 rebounds and four assists.
Hofstra (13-8, 4-4) has lost four games in a row after a hot start. The Pride led 7-0 and 17-10, but W&M took a 40-37 lead on a Brockhoff 3 with 1:31 left in the first half and never trailed again, leading by double digits for much of the second half.
The Pride got 18 points from Preston Edmead, 16 from Biggie Patterson, 14 from Cruz Davis and 12 from Joshua DeCady.
W&M next will play at Elon at 7 p.m. Thursday.
