With Super Bowl coming up, CT grocery store drops prices on chicken. Bet you know why.

A grocery store in Connecticut has lowered its prices on chicken before the Super Bowl this Sunday.

According to a statement, Americans consumed an estimated 1.47 billion chicken wings during the Super Bowl in 2025. To reflect that, Stop & Shop has lowered its prices on chicken in stores in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

“Chicken wings, tenders, and drums are some of the most popular game-day foods, and these new lower prices are permanent, not a limited-time promotion,” according to a statement. Also during the week leading up to the Super Bowl, Stop & Shop is offering “extra deals on game-day favorites including guacamole, hot dogs, sausages, chicken nuggets, wings, shrimp, chips, salsa, soda, and more.”

For instance, the Stop & Shop brand chicken drum value pack is dropping 38% to $1.29/lb. The Stop & Shop boneless breast value pack is dropped 29% to $2.99/lb. There are additional sales on Stop & Shop brand, Purdue, Nature’s Promise and Bell Evans.
