757Teamz girls volleyball Top 15: Cox, Kellam, Grafton stay unbeaten and atop the poll

The Beach District takes up three of the top six spots in the 757Teamz girls volleyball Top 15 in the early season.

Top-ranked Cox won a season-opening showdown against First Colonial as Kathleen Grosz, Camdyn Milisitz and Emma Piccola registered nine kills each. Giulia Allison had 26 digs, Sophie Barnes had 19 kills, and Riley Erwin had 14 kills and 10 digs to lead No. 2 Kellam past Ocean Lakes 3-2 (15-11 in the final set).

First Colonial slipped to 1-3, but all three losses were to higher-ranked Beach rivals.

Grafton climbs to the No. 3 spot after a 4-0 start. Ally Burke had 14 aces and 15 digs in a win over Poquoson, while against Gloucester, Kenzie Smith recorded 12 kills and Olivia De La Cruz contributed 15 assists and three aces.

Kempsville won its first four matches, led by the trio of Mallory Beeson, Audrey Whitley and Mia Mullins with 27 kills in a win over Bayside. The Chiefs also swept Salem, Princess Anne and Oscar Smith.
