Police have arrested a man in connection with a burglary at a storage unit facility in Norwalk where nearly 90 units were burglarized and numerous things were stolen, including firearms.

Tylon Gardner, 35, of Hamden was arrested Wednesday at Stamford Superior Court in connection with a warrant investigators had for him, according to Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police Department.

He faces five counts each of third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, two counts each of theft of a firearm and conspiracy to commit theft of a firearm and a single count of first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

The charges stem from a commercial burglary reported on July 1, 2024, at Cubesmart at 162 Bouton St., Podgorski said. Investigators found that 89 storage units had been burglarized. Among the numerous items that were reported missing were multiple firearms, according to Podgorski.

The “exhaustive investigation” over the next year involved multiple search and seizure warrants, an analysis of hours of video recordings and a collaboration with other law enforcement agencies.

Podgorski said Norwalk Det. Barron was able to develop leads and identify Gardner as a suspect. A warrant for his arrest was obtained in July.

Following his arrest, Gardner’s bond was set at $50,000. He is scheduled to face a judge on Sept. 24.
