CT man with multiple arrest warrants accused of violating protective order

A man wanted on multiple warrants was arrested in Norwalk on Sunday and accused of violating a protective order.

Officers received a 911 call from someone just after 2:30 p.m. reporting that Edgar Mancilla-Giles, 44, was outside their residence despite a protective order that prohibited him from contacting them, according to Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police Department.

Podgorski said police responded to the area, confirmed that there was a protective order in effect and found that Mancilla-Giles was allegedly in violation of the order. He was no longer at the residence but was found shortly thereafter on Ely Avenue, Podgorski said. He faces one count of violation of a protective order.

Police found that Mancilla-Giles had several warrants out for his arrest, including one charging him with second-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery, third-degree larceny and two counts of risk of injury to a child in connection with an alleged robbery on July 12.

He had a warrant out for his arrest in connection with a domestic violence incident on June 27, Podgorski said. He was charged with second-degree threatening in that case.

Mancilla-Giles also had a warrant out for his arrest in connection with a burglary on July 3, according to Podgorski. He faces charges of second-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.

He was also wanted for first-degree failure to appear in court in connection with allegations stemming from an incident in July 2022, Podgorski said. He was held on bonds totaling $735,000 and was expected to face a judge on Monday.
