Weini Kelati, who has won the Manchester Road Race four straight times, will return to run again this year, organizers announced Monday.
Kelati, 28, of Flagstaff, Az., will attempt to tie the record set by Amy Rudolph for the most wins at the Manchester Road Race. Rudolph won the race five times between 1995-2002.
The 89th annual race will take place Nov. 27 on Main St. in Manchester, starting at 10 a.m. and normally attracts approximately 10,000 runners.
Kelati already has the course record (22:55), which she set in her Manchester debut in 2021. She has the record for the most consecutive wins and has the four fastest times ever run by a female competitor on the course.
Last year, Kelati won in 23:14, the second fastest time on the 4.737-mile course, and finished 21st overall.
Kelati is a naturalized U.S. citizen from Eritrea who finished eighth in the 10,000 meters at the Paris Olympic Games last summer.
