CT state police looking for ‘reckless’ driver who allegedly changes license plates, vehicles weekly

State police are asking for help identifying a person who allegedly changes out their license plates and vehicles regularly while driving recklessly to New Milford each day.

The driver travels west through Washington to New Milford every day around 6:45 a.m. using Route 109, according to a Facebook post from the Connecticut State Police Washington Resident Trooper Office.

Troopers believe the driver works in New Milford. During their commute, state police said the individual drives in a “reckless manner” while passing other drivers and school buses. On one occasion, state troopers tried to stop the driver but they drove so fast that the pursuit was immediately terminated, according to state police.

State police said they believe the individual changes license plates and vehicles “weekly.” They were last driving a green Subaru Legacy with a Florida dealer plate 61931X and a red Jeep with an unknown New York plate and plastic on the driver side window.

State police released photos of both vehicles and are asking the public for information.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Resident Trooper Office at 860-868-9671. Any tips will remain confidential, state police said.
